Today Your Child Learned…
Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development…
Today’s PSHE Lesson
Healthy Eating (How To Keep Our Bodies Working Well)
The link between having a healthy body and mind comes from a well balanced diet and active way of life. Modern lifestyles are prone to making us increasingly less active, especially when using our screens. There is a real need for us to educate and encourage our children to follow a more active lifestyle.
What We Covered In The PSHE Lesson
Here’s what we went through today…
- How a healthy diet has an effect on our weight, teeth and mental and physical health.
- Eating healthily helps keep our minds and bodies fit.
How You Can Help From Home
Here’s what you can talk about during dinner…
- Talk about the foods we enjoy eating and which nutrients are in these foods.
- Talk with your child about how certain foods might be affecting our health, weight or teeth.
Go Above & Beyond
Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons…
- Keeping track of what you eat and checking how you feel will give your family a good indicator of how your bodies are coping with everyday life.
- Visit the dentist regularly to check on your child’s teeth and encourage them to exercise and eat well.
- Explain the benefits of keeping fit and healthy and talk about the risks involved with not looking after your body like diabetes, obesity and tooth decay.
- Be sensitive when talking to your child about issues involving weight and ask them what they think they could change or remove from their diet to make small steps to being healthier.
When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.
