Today Your Child Learned…
Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development…
Today’s PSHE Lesson
Leadership (What Makes A Good Leader?)
Leaders help themselves and encourage others to do the right thing. A leader can build a vision that inspires others to follow, they’re usually exciting, dynamic and inspiring. A leader may also possess other qualities, some of us may need to practise these to become good leaders ourselves.
What We Covered In The PSHE Lesson
Here’s what we went through today…
- What a good leader is and times in our lives when we’ve been a leader.
- The qualities of a good leader – confidence, honesty, inspiration and commitment.
- Are we born to be a good leader or can we learn to be a good leader?
How You Can Help From Home
Here’s what you can talk about during dinner…
- Give your child some responsibility where they can take the lead, this will help them understand what it’s like to be a leader. Do they like this role?
- What qualities they think make a good leader.
Go Above & Beyond
Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons…
- Talk to your child about when you’ve been a leader, how did it feel? did you enjoy it?
- Discuss situations where they’ve experienced someone taking on a role as a leader like a netball captain or group activity in class.
- Ask your child if they’d like to be a leader or would they prefer another role in a team or group activity?
- Think about how you could develop your child’s confidence, communication and leadership skills in the family by giving them specific roles or jobs where they take the lead.
When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.
