Today Your Child Learned…

Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development…

Today’s PSHE Lesson

British Values Individual Liberty (Freedom To Choose)

Liberty means we have freedom to do what we like! But… It must never take away someone else’s freedoms or break rules or laws; People have different degrees of liberty, depending on their country, the culture and the systems they have in place; Some governments or regimes impose restrictions on freedom.

What We Covered In The PSHE Lesson

Here’s what we went through today…

  • That we are allowed to have our own opinion and can share it as long as we are not offensive or rude.
  • That a moral code can provide different advice about what is right or wrong.
  • That it is important to let other people have their say too because a clash of ideas can be a clash of values or moral code.

How You Can Help From Home

Here’s what you can talk about during dinner…

  • Have conversations to encourage opinions and to make sure they are being presented the right way.
  • Talk about morals and a moral code.

Go Above & Beyond

Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons…

  • Encourage your child to have an opinion on matters.
  • Choose topics to speak about where your child can freely speak their opinion.
  • Respect their views and share your views, it is important for everyone to appreciate other points of views.
  • Present your views and make sure everyone has their say.

When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.

The pupils at our school are really enjoying the lifewise scheme. The scheme is very staff-friendly and easy to monitor. More staff are now teaching lifewise as a consequence and all the DfE statutory guidance (+more) is covered. The staff at lifewise are extremely professional. As it is a digital platform, lessons are constantly being up-dated and improved.

Lifewise is a fantastic tool to use. It is easy and clear to navigate and as well as in class we have used Lifewise during remote learning sessions, whilst in lockdown. I would thoroughly recommend this 'wellbeing session' tool to any school. It is exceptional.

Lifewise was so helpful for my online ELSA sessions. The format gave the children the chance to express their emotions. They loved the quiz and enjoyed the conversation.
