Today Your Child Learned…

Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development…

Today’s PSHE Lesson

British Values – Mutual Respect (Shared Values And Religion)

Culture is the experience of living in a certain time in a certain place with a certain bunch of people. Culture is a word for people’s ‘way of life’, meaning the way groups do things. It is passed on to the next generation by learning. Culture is seen in writing, religion, music, clothes, cooking, and what we do.

What We Covered In The PSHE Lesson

Here’s what we went through today…

  • Making connections with similarities and differences for a range of people from different religious and belief backgrounds.
  • Presenting views on challenging questions about how different religions relate to each other, including respectful and
    conflicting behaviour.
  • What makes harmony between groups more likely.

How You Can Help From Home

Here’s what you can talk about during dinner…

  • Ask your child about different values and religions.
  • Keep emphasising ‘The Golden Rule’ – Treat other people the way you would like to be treated.

Go Above & Beyond

Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons…

  • When it comes to religion and values, a lot of principles are the same.
  • It is important to be welcoming and kind to all religions
and beliefs. Live by The Golden Rule.
  • Discuss harmony and what it means.
  • Ask for views on harmony and for ways it can be
    achieved.

When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.

The pupils at our school are really enjoying the lifewise scheme. The scheme is very staff-friendly and easy to monitor. More staff are now teaching lifewise as a consequence and all the DfE statutory guidance (+more) is covered. The staff at lifewise are extremely professional. As it is a digital platform, lessons are constantly being up-dated and improved.

Lifewise is a fantastic tool to use. It is easy and clear to navigate and as well as in class we have used Lifewise during remote learning sessions, whilst in lockdown. I would thoroughly recommend this 'wellbeing session' tool to any school. It is exceptional.

Lifewise was so helpful for my online ELSA sessions. The format gave the children the chance to express their emotions. They loved the quiz and enjoyed the conversation.
