Today Your Child Learned…
Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development…
Today’s PSHE Lesson
Self-Image (Accepting Myself I AM ME)
Sometimes we might think that if we change something about ourselves we may feel better. This can be a positive move but we also need to encourage our children to feel good about themselves, that they are unique and well loved whatever. We all may think we would like to change our image or improve our ability at something to make us feel better about ourselves.
What We Covered In The PSHE Lesson
Here’s what we went through today…
- That we should accept who we are.
- Try not to compare ourselves with others.
- We can change some things about ourselves but not everything.
- How to speak to someone with a poor self image.
How You Can Help From Home
Here’s what you can talk about during dinner…
- Talk about scenarios when friends are competing with each other or comparing each other all the time and how this may affect friendships.
Go Above & Beyond
Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons…
- Ask your child if they’re happy, if they are happy with their friendship groups, why they enjoy the company of their friends and what they like about them.
- Why they think that their friends enjoy spending time with them.
- How they can help If one of their friends is feeling sad about themselves, perhaps because of the way they look or because they are not good at something for instance.
- Discuss how we are all different and unique, some things we will be able to do and some things we won’t.
When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.
