Today Your Child Learned…
Dear Parent & Guardian,
We are excited to share that your child has completed the following PSHE lesson. Check out our overview and top tips to support their development…
Today’s PSHE Lesson
The Government (Roles And Responsibilities)
Politics and Government may not be top of the agenda for most children at this age but having an awareness and what they do for the UK is essential if we’re to prepare them to put their views forward and vote for the parties and policies that they believe in when they’re old enough to vote. Understanding how MPs and ministers are responsible for making decisions, negotiating and taking action on behalf of the Government is important, especially if our children wish to know how they can petition, protest or support laws that are made in their lifetime.
What We Covered In The PSHE Lesson
Here’s what we went through today…
- Know that the Prime Minister is responsible for appointing Cabinet members and government officials to work with him or her.
How You Can Help From Home
Here’s what you can talk about during dinner…
- Book a visit to the Houses of Parliament and go to see 10 Downing Street.
Go Above & Beyond
Here are some other ideas to support your childs PSHE lessons…
- Encourage your child to recognise names and faces of important members of our Government and political parties.
- Talk to your child about what the Prime Minister does on behalf of the people living in the UK and explain that the Prime Minister has help to make decisions from his Cabinet.
- Is there anything that your child would like to write to the Prime Minister about?
When it comes to your child’s development, teachers and parents are better together! By aligning our goals and education techniques, we can better realise our vision of positively preparing your child for their future.
